Residence rules
Students have access to their residence halls 24 hours a day. Upon arrival, students are provided with an electronic card or key for the main door and an individual key to their room.
Visitors to rooms and to the residence halls are permitted until 10:00 pm, under the responsibility of the host student.
Each room is individual; lodging other individuals in your room is not permitted. It is also forbidden to keep or to consume alcoholic beverages on the premises, either in the room or in the building. Quiet is required after 10:00 pm (to allow for study or relaxation). Noise disturbance will not be tolerated, and following an initial warning, may even result in eviction.
Each occupant must take out insurance to cover personal and third party (public) liability. The AEU declines any responsibility for theft. For safety reasons, candles and gas-fuelled equipment are not permitted in the buildings. To avoid accidents which could result in legal action, objects must not be suspended outside the building or placed on window ledges. It is also forbidden to block in-coming or out-going air vents, even temporarily. To gain access for building maintenance or regular mandatory safety or security inspections, and for the general safety of other occupants, management reserves the right to access rooms at any time.
A telephone outlet is provided in each room. The occupant is responsible for any hook-up fees. Internet access is provided in each residence hall.
A number of services can be found in different residence halls: There are 2 student supervisors and a team of other students who are responsible for the orgnization of different services and equipment (TV, laundry room, computer access, mail, etc, ...). Breakfast is served Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 am. Each residence hall is equipped with a kitchen, a TV room, a laundry room with washing machine and dryer. Rooms are cleaned bi-weekly (semy-monthly).
